Chef Daniel Boulud and The Dinex Group is searching for an ambitious, well-rounded and experienced Corporate Director of Sales to help develop banquet sales and maximize revenue across properties.
We are looking for an individual who is strategic and proactive with a proven track record of leadership in both sales and F&B management. Applicants also need to possess strong revenue and budget management skills with a creative flair for event planning, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The ideal candidate will provide leadership and guidance to the private dining team within the restaurant group supervising overall operations of the individual banquet rooms. This includes the ability to step in to execute an event as well as handle preparations before and after an event. The Director's primary responsibility is to lead the PDR team to realize annual sales goals while ensuring all client inquiries receive a prompt response. He/She will be responsible for the cross-promotion of all brands.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise Private Dining Directors at the restaurant level
- Maintain a balance between floor, administration and employee supervision
- Ensure all events are well orchestrated by the private dining team, exceeding guest expectations
- Maximize sales and event bookings; monitor contracts, quotes, leads
- Promote and sell the Banquet Rooms as well as managing and overseeing the booked events (This will include weekend and evening hours.)
- Attend networking events to prospect for business
- Determine competitive menu pricing and presentation style at the corporate level
- Establish corporate client relationships to grow domestic/international accounts
- Monitor and increase lead-to-sales conversion
- Cross-promote the restaurants to leverage all levels of event price points
- Propose, design and execute seasonal and activation events to increase visibility and revenue
- Maintain service standards through regularly scheduled training of Banquet Staff
- Prepare financial reports and analyze trends
- Work with Marketing/PR teams to drive sales
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a multi-unit Event/Sales Position based in Manhattan
- 3+ years of experience in managing $15 million in private dining sales over multiple concepts
- 1+ year of experience in corporate events partnership
- Established contacts in the business community
- Ability to interact with diverse and high-volume customer base in a friendly and efficient manner
- Excellent communication both written and verbal
- Goal-oriented and ability to multi-task
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and problem solve for best solutions
- Well versed in hospitality service standards and able to manage events with a fast-paced, fun and diverse restaurant group portfolio
- Knowledge of Tripleseat, Resy, Avero
- Demonstrated interest in the food & hospitality industry
- Hardworking, organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and time management
This position will earn commission on all private dining sales.
