Strategic Success Manager

The Strategic Success Manager (SSM) is responsible for ensuring the overall success of a portfolio of strategic accounts running Carbon Black products. As a senior member of the Sales Customer Success team, the SSM is responsible for driving success and value of the products within the assigned customers and partnering with Field Sales team (Regional Director and Regional Account Manager) for renewal and add-on opportunities. The SSM is adept at developing and nurturing a consultative relationship with CISOs and other key security leaders within a customer organization, as well as building relationships with the “hands on” security personnel.
Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
- As a Strategic Success Manager, you will excel in establishing consultative relationships with key decision-makers in assigned enterprise accounts, elevating executive connections.
- As a Strategic Success Manager, you will showcase your adeptness in strategic thinking and proactive adaptability to meet individual and evolving customer needs, enabling you to consistently drive positive outcomes that align with customer-defined value.
- As a Strategic Success Manager, you will leverage your extensive experience in complicated enterprise software implementations and knowledge of cyber security standards to skillfully set and manage customer expectations.
- As Strategic Success Manager, you will excel in adeptly navigating the unique requirements of both customers and the Carbon Black sales, services, support, product, marketing and engineering teams.
What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
- Manage a portfolio of strategic accounts throughout their lifecycle with Carbon Black
- Work with Sales Account Manager to bring in renewals and add-on opportunities
- Build and elevate strategic relationships with CISOs and other key security leaders within your portfolio.
- Perform bi-weekly or monthly strategic alignment reviews with customers to ensure ongoing partnership and enhance engagement.
- Facilitate regular roadmap conversations between customer and product management.
- Set and manage customer expectations while continuing to highlight Carbon Black's distinctive value proposition in the market.
- Work with customer to define value and build outcome driven success plans based on agreed upon objectives.
- Report Carbon Black's management of overall health of customers (technical, organizational, operational and sponsorship)
- Assist Carbon Black marketing by encouraging customers to appear in Carbon Black related marketing materials/events including but not limited to, customer reference calls, whitepapers, magazine quotes/articles, speaking at conferences.
- Partner with Regional Sales Representatives to discover, collaborate and close new and add-on business within your portfolio of accounts.
- Foresee and forecast risk and implement mitigation strategies.
- Travel 25% of the time

For US based candidates, the annual pay range (OTE for commissioned roles; Salary for other roles) for this position is: $113,000 - $272,000. The actual offer will be based on the role, location, and individual candidate experience. Bonus, commission, and/or equity may be eligible for this position. VMware offers comprehensive benefits including, but not limited to: medical, dental, and vision plans, company paid holidays, paid sick leave, and vacation time.
