Comcast is hiring a full time in-person sales Engineer for the Silver Spring location. As the sales Engineer you will be responsible for providing specific product and technical knowledge as well as advice and support to Sales Representatives and customers. You will work as a collaborative member of the sales team to market and sell the Company's product lines and provide insight to the customers on current network situations.
**Base pay 85-90k + commission**
Sales Engineer Core Responsibilities
Performs needs analyses for the Company and its customers and produce cost-effective solutions.
Provides timely, technical support and problem resolution for field service questions.
Supports Sales team with product modifications and engineering expertise for custom projects.
Assists representatives and customers in evaluating and selecting products.
Creates, reviews, and executes product test plans and cases, documents test progress and reports results.
Recommends products to meet customer needs.
Strong Business acumen and professional skills are very important as well – strong dialogue, questioning and listening skills, clear communication and impact presentation skills, business insight, customer focus and problem-solving competencies. Customer facing roles experience is a plus
Understanding of Cybersecurity, NextGen Firewalls, IDS and IPS services, all potential attack threat vectors, DDoS Mitigation services, UTM, and mitigation strategies and cloud architecture
Strong knowledge on Layer 2 Switching and Layer 3 Routing, the differences, and pros and cons of each.
Strong knowledge on traffic steering policies including QoS and CoS and their effect on network performance.
Understanding on the various WAN technologies including Ethernet, MPLS/VPLS, IP/VPN, SDN and the various transport mediums
Strong Knowledge on voice technologies including Trunking /VoIP/Hosted Cloud/Microsoft Teams/WebEx
Strong in Microsoft visio design development and explanation of technical solution to customer
Industry Certifications helpful but not required, and/or related work experience including current sales engineering, network administrator, systems administrator, IT manager, etc.
Certifications may include Fortinet, Meraki, CompTia Net+ and Security+, Cisco, Microsoft, Carrier Ethernet, Security, Citrix
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
