Purpose of the Position
The position will assist in achieving the sales goals of the assigned Kistler Vehicle Testing business unit products and systems in the defined market area which includes active safety, dynamics, and durability testing equipment. They will provide both sales development and technical support prospective and current customers. This will entail frequent visits to customers to demonstrate vehicle testing product and services solutions which will be primarily at test and development facilities located in the North America.
Main Tasks
- Regularly meets with and gains an understanding of key customer needs.
- Identifies opportunities for sales and new product offerings aligned with the strategic business unit strategy.
- Schedules customer meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations to generate increasing sales volume in line with targets.
- Generates quotations and maintains opportunity pipeline in the CRM environment.
- Supports the introduction of Kistler products with customers through direct on-site support potentially including product installation and training for customer engineers and technicians.
- Supports the market development of Service and Rental business opportunities in the product area.
- Gains competitive market analysis information and helps develop sales and marketing strategies for specific market sectors.
- Participates at trade shows for product area and follows up on opportunities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college/university in an engineering discipline.
- Experiences in an automotive test and development environment or a similar technical/sales role is preferred.
- Technical knowledge of automotive R&D sensors and associated electronics.
- Competent with ERP and CRM systems (SAP).
- Very good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically MS Excel.
- The ability to take the initiative to get projects completed
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Physical requirements: ability to sit at a desk 90% of workday; ability to use a computer 80% of workday.
- Ability to lift products and equipment up to 25 lbs. unassisted.
- Up to 70% travel required for application support, trade show and training at Kistler, Vendor and/or Customer sites.
