The function of the Account/Sales Representative is to seek, contact, and negotiate with potential and current customers and attain sales for DMG. Their goal is to produce enough new profitable business to ensure the growth and profit goals of DMG. The role will be responsible to drive revenue growth through new customer acquisition and the expansion of existing accounts in the builder, contractor, remodeler, commercial, and retail areas.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the development and maintenance of good client relations that foster the development of long-term relationships.
Develop a network of contacts to provide leads on potential new clients.
Work with residential, commercial, and interior design clients to assist in the selection of marble and granite products.
Maintains open communication with all clients.
Ensures quotes, slab views, layouts, and sign off are completed.
Remains visible in the business community and in the market place in which DMG operates and provides a positive and professional image for the company.
Maintains a well-groomed, professional business appearance.
Attends trade shows, conventions, seminars, and other meetings to enhance his/her professional knowledge, network, or to promote DMG.
Maintains an accurate and up to date customer account list with detailed information.
Ensures all transactions are done in an ethical and prudent manner.
Settles all customer complaints and seeks guidance of the Sales Manager, Assistant General Manager, and
General Manager when required.
Keeps updated on the events in the industry and market place in order to take advantage of new changes.
Follows all instructions (written and verbal) as given by management.
Remains in constant contact with established customers to ensure their satisfaction with the products and the company’s services and to promote additional sales.
Develops systems or procedures for following through on leads, contacts, and commitments.
Completes and submits all reports required and requested in a complete and timely manner.
Contacts a sufficient number of potential customers in order to achieve the volume of sales needed to meet
DMG’s goals set for sales.
Ensures the acquisition of potential customer by appropriate means including, but not limited to, direct mail, advertising, promotions, referrals, and direct sales calls.
Ensures that an accurate recording system is maintained for all sales activity. Develops and maintains sales records including sales calls and sales results in a timely and accurate manner.
Ensures that quality servicing of customer by monitoring key indicators and reports as well as frequent contact with key customers.
Meets or exceed sales and gross margin goals.
Monitors sales results for potential improvements and variances from plan and take proper actions.
Ensures that sales expenses are acceptable and within the expense budget.
Keeps informed on competitors’ selling policies, tactics, services, and prices offered.
Monitors competitive activity in the market and identifies new competition and/or changes in competitors’ activities.
Stays current on industry trends.
Maintains cooperative working relationships with all DMG team members.
Complies with company policies pertaining to methods, procedures, records, reports, conduct, etc.
Acts as a liaison between customer and the operations team.
Processes orders and follows up on new sales leads, current and former customers.
Consistently prospects for new customers using referral and other ethical means available.
Assures the confidentiality of customer lists and other sensitive company information.
The collection of accounts receivable.
Assists retail walk in customers.
Works a minimum of 2 Saturday’s per month.
SPECIFIC SKILLLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Exceptional listening, communication, and questioning skills
Knowledge of sales techniques and report preparation required mental abilities are required to compute business math formulas and to enter data onto spreadsheets, sales reports, and databases.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers or members of the business community.
Knowledge of customer service and administration duties.
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to deal and work with all levels of customer and internal staff.
Strong leader and a self starter, who is driven, ethical, hard-working, personable and rejection proof
Key Account Management.
Revenue and Sales Forecasting Experience
Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline, advanced degree preferred
Proposal and Sales Material collateral development experience
Outstanding oral and written communications required
High energy, personable/outgoing personality, results and goal oriented, achiever and driver
Salary is dependent on experience and background.
