About us

Research Products International (RPI), a rapidly growing international biochemical and lab supply company celebrating its 52nd year in the life science marketplace, is focused on supporting the research and manufacturing efforts of Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Diagnostic, and Academic organizations.

The role focuses on maintaining and increasing revenue by actively selling the RPI brand of chemicals, custom solutions, and lab equipment to assigned existing and new pharmaceutical/ biotech / other customers throughout the US. The successful candidate will provide technical and business solutions to customers and will gather and communicate market information trends and competitive activities. The account manager works closely with manufacturing sites, quality, customer service, and commercial organizations to ensure customer satisfaction.

This role is based in our Mt. Prospect, IL office and will cover the entire US.

We seek a highly motivated, energetic, detail-oriented, organized, and customer-focused individual as we continue to grow our national sales team. Ideally, we would like to hire science-minded team members with experience selling to academic, biotech/biopharma laboratories and/or manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Achieve sales target by increasing product sales to existing and potential customer
• Manage all business aspects for accounts related to designated product lines, including complaint handling and managing internal company business or conflicts to support account needs.
• Respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Identify customer needs and offer products/services to meet their requirements.
• Engage Quality and Operation departments to ensure customer needs are met.
• Maintain accurate customer data in CRM
• Perform other duties as assigned

Key Requirements:

· Bachelor’s Degree (Biology or other Life Science Field preferred)

· Minimum 3 years of experience in an Inside Sales/BD role, with preference given to individuals with prior laboratory experience

· Core selling skills, including creating customer value, negotiation, closing, and consultative selling

· Computer software skills including maintaining CRM Database, MS Office Suite

· Excellent communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
