We are looking for a Leasing Supervisor in our Long Island Office
Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of leasing administrators to ensure that all tenant lease documents and customer service are handled efficiently and promptly
- Developing, updating and maintaining lease packages for our portfolio and ensuring appropriate lease packages are utilized at current projects
- Stay up-to-date of policy and rule changes affecting rent stabilization, leasing, affordable housing programs and fair housing regulations and incorporate all new information into existing work via training and operational changes to ensure continued compliance
- Conduct ongoing reviews of our leases, rules and regulations, pet rules and all other riders or notices required for compliance with fair housing and state, federal and local guidelines
- Prepare and stay up-to-date on all aspects of the annual DHCR rent registration filings
- Filing all annual owner certifications, vacancy reports for the portfolio, including IRS 8703s, local agency reports, Section 8 submissions and DHCR Rent Registrations.
- Perform periodic internal file audits to assess area of improvement and devise solutions to address them
- Oversee that all new tenant leases including abstracting relevant tenant data, applying rent and security to the correct accounts, posting of all lease charges and creation of new lease files
- Prepare lease renewals in a timely manner and in strict compliance with rent stabilization and other applicable laws
- Ensure all vacancy information is updated and processed in a timely manner
- Perform special department projects as needed
- Maintain all documentation necessary for potential tenant legal action
- Provide senior level customer service to tenants as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred with at least 5+ years’ direct professional experience with NYC residential rental and rent stabilization compliance
- Computer literacy, including proficient in Yardi and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Initiative and exceptional time management skills in handling multiple projects to meet deadlines
- Able to maintain a professional demeanor when engaging with residents, staff and others
- Experience working and communicating professionally with regulators to resolve compliance issues
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information
Salary commensurate with experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
