Director of Business Development

Are you a dynamic and driven professional with a passion for building strong client relationships? Do you have experience in business development within the accounting or professional services industries? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

We are an award-winning Arlington, VA-based CPA firm looking to hire a Director of Business Development to join our team. As the Director of Business Development, you will play a vital role in driving the growth and success of our firm by expanding our client base and fostering long-term partnerships. Your primary focus will be on generating new business opportunities and nurturing existing client relationships.

About the Role:

In this role, approximately 70% of calls will be inbound, requiring your expertise in effectively communicating, motivating, and engaging with customers who are actively seeking our tax and accounting services. Your ability to understand their needs, present our offerings persuasively, and build lasting relationships will be essential to your success.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and target potential clients through proactive prospecting, networking, and market research.
  • Utilize sales tools, including outreach, to engage with prospects and communicate the value propositions of our services effectively.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers in target industries.
  • Conduct sales presentations and tailor solutions to meet clients' specific requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop strategies and proposals for client acquisition.
  • Negotiate and close new business deals to achieve revenue targets.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and competitors to identify growth opportunities.
  • Coordinate with the Marketing Communications Consultant on creating and updating business development tools, including the firm’s website, blog posts, social media, presentation materials, and other marketing collateral.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in a sales/business development role, preferably within the accounting or professional services industry.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proficiency in using sales tools, including outreach, to engage with prospects.
  • Ability to understand client needs and effectively position our services to meet those needs.
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales tools is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the local market and industry trends.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
