Full description of the position

The Outside Sales Engineer is responsible for promoting and selling Stark Compression's wide range of pump and blower offerings along with other related technology solutions under the Company's product lines to contractors, consultants, and customers.

How are you successful in this role?

The Outside Sales Engineer will sell new/retrofit pumps, blowers and related Stark Compression equipment. Establish and maintain relationships with consultants, contractors, and customers responsible for new quote activity and generation. Develop a network of contacts. Listen and speak with customers to identify their concerns and needs. Position Stark Tech as a responsible and responsive provider. Provide comprehensive technology and system solutions to meet customer objectives and Code requirements, and drive profit. Influence design and construction with contractors, consultants, and customers. Create competitive, high quality and timely estimates, bids, proposals, and cost benefit analyses. Work closely with the Inside Sales Team as needed. Write, present, and communicate bids, including input on development of drawings. Utilize the applicable CRM effectively to plan, communicate and document progress and increase business opportunity in accounts. Leverage sales process monthly checkpoints to gain progressive commitments from the customer. Communicate with management regularly. Build and foster team relationships across the organization to ensure customer satisfaction. Assist with the development of team and/or Operations Systems sales and marketing plans and strategies. Target new customers based on vertical. Occasionally participate in trade shows, product demonstrations, professional organizations, and other networking events.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent related work experience.
  • 5 + years of outside technical sales experience in the Electrical and/or Mechanical industry with emphasis in positive displacement pumps, centrifugal pumps, and positive displacement blowers for the industrial, food and chemical markets
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence is a plus.
  • Experience maintaining strong, long-term customer relationships with significant add-on/repeat business.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and SalesForce CRM is preferred.
  • Proficiency with handheld devices, such as Smartphones, iPads, etc.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills written and verbal, both internally and externally are essential.
  • Must be a highly motivated and an independent thinker.
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast pace setting and adapt/be flexible in a changing environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines required.
