ABOUT THIS POSITION:
Our agency is currently seeking a motivated and experienced professional for an Account Manager position on our Employee Benefits team. Candidates will thrive working in a team environment and have a strong desire to absorb knowledge while continuing to grow within the industry and agency. This account manager position provides support to the Employee Benefits Agents, works closely with clients and at times other members of the agency team in providing day to day client service and support, with possible assistance on individual products.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Implementation paperwork when a change in carrier occurs or when a new product is implemented, including spreadsheet census submission.
- Creating and updating census for marketing purposes.
- Insurance Renewals and implementing employer plan changes.
- Timely fulfill supply request from clients in preparation of open enrollment and new hire communication. Includes coordination carrier supplies and reviewing upon receipt for accuracy.
- Request, review, coordinate updates and track client plan documents such as booklets, contracts, etc.
- May be asked to attend a benefits open enrollment or health fair to address employees, answer questions and distribute benefit materials.
- Market the group to carriers for quoting purposes.
- As needed, preparation of materials needed for client meetings including but not limited to client communication material, carrier contact sheets and team contact sheets.
- Familiar with HIPPA, COBRA, and other compliance laws.
- Update and maintain agency management system with client information.
- Processing new hire enrollments, terminations, changes of employee status for clients.
- Work proactively with clients to resolve problems. This includes providing resolution support and oversight of employee issues such as enrollment and billing issues, claims, eligibility, terminations or plan design problems.
- Work with Internal Partners, Clients, and Carriers to resolve issues and to ensure accurate and timely response to all outstanding issues.
SKILLS YOU WILL NEED:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required
- Independent insurance agency experience, preferred
- Employee Benefits experience with an employee benefits agency, broker or carrier, preferred.
- Ability to multi-task to effectively and efficiently manage responsibilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of Applied / Epic, preferred
- Highly capable with systems and implementation.
- Active Life & Health Insurance License or ability to pass Life & Health insurance licensing exam and retain license by meeting the continuing education requirements.
- Ability to work independently as well as cooperative team player.
- Keep informed regarding industry information, new product information, legislation, coverage's and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance.
- Interact with others effectively by utilizing good communication skills, cooperating purposefully and providing information and guidance, as needed, to achieve the business goals of the company.
- Develop and maintain excellent client and carrier relationships and ability to work well with others.
- Strong ability to problem solve, set and meet deadlines, communicate, work under pressure, organize, prioritize, manage multiple tasks and operate in a fast paced environment.
- Attention to detail and ability to self-check work.
