The Vice President Business Development is responsible for the research, development and performance of all Business Development activities for new business growth. Provides leadership towards the achievement of growth in line with company vision and values. Reports to senior leadership of company.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors Degree in Healthcare, Finance, Marketing or related field required
- Minimum 5+ years previous experience in healthcare business development or sales required
- Minimum 3+ years previous experience in healthcare operations preferred
- Previous experience with market research, strategy development and execution, physician relations and hospital and ASC organizations required
- Ability to interact with and make presentations to various audiences including physicians and hospital executives and cultivate ongoing relationships
- Self-motivated with the ability to work in an unstructured environment
- Extensive travel required – up to 80%
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Research and develop a business plan and growth strategy for new business opportunities that ensures attainment of company growth goals and profitability
- Recruit and work with facility leadership to on-board new physicians to facilities
- Work with facility leadership to optimize current physician utilization
- Evaluate other facilities for acquisition and/or merger and assist with due diligence
- Identify opportunities for new de novo facility growth in markets
- Develop relationships with hospitals and other provider organizations
- Prepare financial impact analyses of new physician and other growth opportunities
- Assist with assessment and development of new market opportunities, as requested
- Document progress toward business plans in regular and succinct manner
- Provide timely updates to senior management regarding performance of plan objectives, intelligence learned in markets and new growth opportunities
- Other duties as assigned
