Garden Gate Landscaping is currently seeking an experienced Landscape Design & Sales Consultant. The Design & Sales Consultant is a highly experienced employee with extensive knowledge in the design and planning of outdoor living projects. The Design/Sales Consultant will meet with potential clients, define the scope of work, budgets and timelines, will produce designs and close the opportunity with a signed contract. The Design/Sales Consultant is an integral member of the team serving as salesperson, designer, and liaison to the Production and Operations staff. The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills focused on building trust; excellent sales and communication skills; and the creativity to develop innovative residential landscape designs. This full-time position is located at our office in Silver Spring, MD with full-time working hours Monday through Friday and reports to the President.

Position Duties & Responsibilities

• Qualify prospective clients
• Build rapport with clients to generate a positive relationship
• Assist the client with defining the aesthetics, budget, and goals for the project
• Create and propose designs for the client
• Create the estimate and contract including plant options and hardscape materials
• Communicate and transition the project to production to clearly convey scope of the project
• Routinely work with production to generate accurate costs, labor, and timelines throughout the process
• Inspect the project through the installation process and handle any large change orders that can affect the original scope of the project
• Ensure client satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management
• Identify strong potential prospects; manage, nurture and convert leads into sales opportunities
• Professionally represent the company and its superior reputation through high quality solutions and honest and fair transactions
• Performs all other duties as assigned

Skills/Abilities

Required

• High School diploma
• Associate degree in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, or a related field
• 2 years’ experience designing and selling residential landscape installation and maintenance services
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Excellent sales and negotiation skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite & Google Suite
• Ability to work independently
• Valid and unexpired Driver’s License that is not currently suspended or revoked

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, or a related field
• 4 years’ experience designing and selling residential landscape installation and maintenance services
• Familiarity with estimating and design software like Boss and DynaScape
