The Used Truck Manager is responsible for overseeing the acquisition, appraisal and management of used equipment to ensure margins on sales are maximized. The Used Truck Manager works closely with the reconditioning team, sales team and operations team to ensure JX recon standards are met and units are front row ready.
Shift: Normal business hours, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
Pay: $85,000-$100000, depending on experience, plus incentive/bonus plan
Work Location: Hybrid/Remote, Must live in WI or IL
Essential Responsibilities:
Manage inventory to maximize margin on sales by providing accurate appraisals, assigning market based values, and working with appropriate parties to effectively manage the reconditioning process, ensuring that JX standards and timelines are met.
Effectively source and sell used trucks through multiple dealer-to-dealer and other non-retail channels.
Conduct routine inspections to ensure pre-owned inventory remains front row ready. Provide regular recommendations to the Director of Used Truck Operations as well as the Reconditioning team on additional work to be completed.
Work closely with the Director of Used Truck Operations and Marketing team on monthly pricing evaluations and promotions.
Provide key insight and expertise in all facets of used truck operations.
Make timely recommendations on the disposition of inventory.
Approve sales contracts and assist, as needed, in the proper structuring of deals.
Ensure sales team members are trained appropriately in the appraisal process via ERP system.
Monitor and approve held and quoted requests via ERP system.
Maintain a strong and consistent presence at dealer locations and provide training and expertise to local sales representatives and local management to effectively grow market share.
Prospect new business relationships.
All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
BA/BS degree in business, finance or related field preferred OR experience in managing dealership used truck sales.
Proven success in retail and dealer-to-dealer (wholesale) sales.
Ability to appraise used equipment accurately and manage physical assets.
Strong analytical skills to properly evaluate how to minimize reconditioning expenses while maximizing profit margins.
Strong leadership skill; ability to motivate and develop staff; strong planning and organizing skills; excellent problem-solving skills.
CDL or willingness/ability to obtain.
Up to 50% travel, some overnight required.
