The Sales Representative is responsible for acquiring new customers through outbound and inbound inquiries. This position is responsible for building trust and rapport with Commercial Sales B2B customers. Generates leads that will become lifetime customers for the business. This position requires a candidate with entrepreneurial ambition; the task involves building a business, not taking orders
Responsibilities will be split 80/20 for both Inside Sales and Customer Service related function:
80% Inside Sales Responsibilities
- Make outbound prospecting communications to build and manage lead development pipeline via cold-calling, networking, e-mail/e-marketing, and utilizing Internet information sources
- Handle inbound sales lead calls to convert calls into sales
- Provide baseline research within targeted accounts to identify key contacts and critical account information prior to prospecting call
- Quote prices and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained
- Participate in required product training to build required product knowledge
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
20% Customer Service Responsibilities
- Enter new customer data and other sales data for current customers into CRM
- Provide accurate and prompt information to customers pertaining to orders for parts as well as initiating opportunities to upsell related parts
- Provide customer support with technical product information
- Keep track of inquiries, requests, and resolutions, maintaining organized files and follow-up tasks for seamless operations
- Address and resolve all customer requests and/or complaints utilizing a positive, creative approach
Education and Training
- High school diploma required.
- Technical associate's degree preferred
Experience
- Minimum (2) years of experience in sales
- Experience in Industrial Distribution or allied industry experience (Hydraulic, Fluid Power, Electrical, Power Transmission, Motors, and Motion Control) is preferred
Knowledge and Skills
- Technical aptitude to learn about fluid power/electrical applications and products
- Advanced knowledge of distributed products line
- Be an active part of a cohesive team, build trust and relationships
- Detail oriented with solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced work environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including professional phone technique
- Mechanical aptitude, with above average math skills
- Computer savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office required, NetSuite preferred
- Ability to interface with top management in both our company and also customers' companies
- Experience in handling inbound and outbound calls, customer retention, and inside sales is required
