English Gardens is a premier full- service landscape company servicing the Metro Detroit, Ann Arbor and surrounding areas. Our professional, award winning team, with more than 135 local, state and national awards for design and installation, has been designing quality landscapes and holiday lighting & décor installations for 69 years.

We are looking to hire experienced individuals for our Landscape Design Team. Our design and installation team meets or exceeds these performance standards on a regular basis: satisfied client, quality project and profitable project. Our designers work with our pre-qualified clients to create beautiful environments for their home, work, institutions, or municipalities.

We have 2 landscape operations, our newly renovated Pontiac office - located on 9 acres and central to territories throughout metro Detroit and surrounding areas, and our newly acquired location in Plymouth on 19 acres serving metro Detroit, Ann Arbor and surrounding areas.

Create professional designs with high horticultural and artistic standards.

Prepare accurate price quotes that meet the clients' wants, needs and budgets. Our custom designed software makes estimating and preparing quotes quick and easy.

Excel at customer service.

Sign contracts for project installation.

Estimate and understand processes to sell most sub-contractors' services.

Present designs and/or seminars to groups or organizations.

Past experience in horticulture and degree in horticulture or landscape architecture preferred but not required.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Positive attitude, enthusiasm and initiative.

Previous sales experience preferred, but not required.

Hand-render drafting and computer skills desired, but not required.

Ability to organize, multi-task, and handle overlapping priorities on a daily basis.

Working knowledge of Spanish a plus, but not required.

Must have a sense of urgency and move quickly as needed.

Possess enthusiasm and initiative.

Willing to learn new things and improve in service and product knowledge.

Perform sales calls and site visits.

Must be able to provide any required client follow up revisions in a timely manner.

Daily site visits and communication with Crew Foreman and any subcontractors for on-going projects.

Must be able to:

Must be able to stand, and walk up to 10 hours per day.

Ability to communicate project details to production team clearly and consisely

Must be able to travel (locally) to work location.

Must be able to see small print, ask qualifying questions as design intent, budget, installation needs.

Must be able to collect monies owed to English Gardens for finalized contracts.

Must be able to hear voices in interpersonal conversation and telephone conversation.

Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.

Must pass a criminal background check.
