WP Category Management Analyst

Job Duties:

  • Collect, analyze and provide business analytics and market intelligence to support key food service manufacturer clients and Waypoint Sales Operations
  • Develop analysis and insights that highlight assortment opportunities (at the local, regional and national levels) and identifies emerging product trends and risks
  • Assist in the development of client/customer analytical capabilities and enhancements including leveraging category data to identify growth opportunities and strategies that deliver solutions to the operator
  • Deliver general category management reporting to highlight business performance, as well as performs ad hoc analysis to support category initiatives and needs
  • Supports category field activation team with necessary data and insights including sales targets at the operator level
  • Provide regular customer insights and recommendations resulting in a deeper understanding of the category
  • Other duties, responsibilities and activities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 3 years or more of previous experience working in a food service category management/analytics environment
  • Significant experience working with specific data tools such as NPD Supply Track, Data essential, and PowerBI
  • Solid working knowledge of relational database design and development
  • Strong client/customer relationship acumen as this is a client-facing position
  • Excellent knowledge of the food service industry (brokers, manufacturers, distributors)
  • Superior interpersonal communication and presentation skills both in person and on camera virtually
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel & PowerPoint
  • Creative problem solving and project management skills
  • Travel as appropriate

The salary range for this role is $75,000-$85,000

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Job Duty
  • Collect, analyze and provide business analytics and market intelligence to support key client groups and Sales Operations
  • Develop analysis and insights that highlight assortment opportunities (at the local, regional and national levels) and identifies emerging product trends and risks

Minimum Qualifications
The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job
Education Level: (Required) Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
(Preferred) Bachelor's Degree Or equivalent experience

Field of Study/Area of Experience: BA/BS degree in business or a related field from an accredited college/university
1-3 years or more of previous experience working in a category management/analytics environment

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work may be performed in an office or warehouse environment. Typically requires the ability to spend 66%+ hours each work day doing the following activities: stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, or climb. May have possible exposure to dust, and may require the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds 33% - 66% of the time.

Field / Reps Requirements

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed in a retail in-store environment. Typically requires the ability to spend 66%+ hours each work day doing the following activities: engage in considerable physical activity, ability to lift and/or push up to 74 pounds, stand on feet for long periods of time, use products or cook food as appropriate for the demonstration, and may be required to work in extremely cold conditions (i.e. refrigerated and freezer sections). Also required to travel and drive. The use of proper safety practices when handling the products and/or cooking is essential.

Field / Administrative Requirements

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work may be performed in an office, field, retail store, or warehouse environment.
