JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: COMMUNITY EDUCATOR
SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Sell medical equipment, products, and services.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
- Advise clients or customers
- Analyze sales activities or trends
- Answer customer or public inquiries
- Apply interpersonal communication techniques
- Apply product knowledge to marketing of goods
- Apply sales techniques
- Apply interpersonal communication techniques
- Apply telephone and electronic communication as sales tool
- Identify best product for customer’s needs
- Apply customer service techniques
- Apply principles or theories of business management
- Apply knowledge of medical terminology
- Conducts themselves in a professional manner and in accordance with company policies
- Conduct or attend staff meetings
- Apply technical sales techniques
- Conduct sales presentations
- Sell products or services
- Apply knowledge of written communication in sales work
- Demonstrate goods and services
- Obtain information from individuals
- Consult with managerial personnel
- Maintain records, reports, or files
- Prepare list of prospective customers
- Process paperwork
TASKS include:
- Resolve customer complaints
- Confer with potential clients regarding equipment needs and advise customers on types of equipment to purchase
- Represent Sleep Solutions at trade shows
- Promote sale of medical equipment, supplies and service to doctors, hospitals and offices
WORK SCHEDULE: Typically Monday thru Friday 8 hours shifts with after hours required as needed
SUPERVISOR: Director of Business Relations
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION OR KNOWLEDGE:
- College Degree preferred
- Basic math skills
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- Knowledge of durable medical equipment
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products and/or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems
EXPERIENCE OR SKILLS:
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- The employee is required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. The employee is required to spend most of their day driving from appointment to appointment. May have to drive in inclement weather.
