Full description of the position

The Plumbing Counter Sales Associate at our Apache Junction branch will increase sales and customer satisfaction by efficiently and courteously assisting walk-in and telephone customers in the selection and acquisition of needed products. To be successful in this position, you need to be diligent, love to work with people and help solve problems.

We have a very busy plumbing and appliance business with amazing long-term employees, customers, and vendors with whom you will interact with every day. You must have a friendly and easy-going personality while also being perceptive and disciplined. A customer service approach is essential to assisting clients and facilitating their needs within our company.

Essential Functions:

• Service customers at the counter by taking orders and entering them into the system accurately
• Follow company pricing, credit, and payment guidelines
• Retrieve orders from warehouse quickly and accurately
• Increase sales, promote, and sell overages, damaged and discontinued items
• Handle customer complaints and returns, while showing a positive attitude
• Assist in scheduled physical inventory counts
• Warehouse and other duties as assigned
• Maintain open orders, following the order through to completion

Job Requirements:

• Has superior customer service & organizational skills as well as a positive and professional attitude
• Able to handle difficult customers with diplomacy and tact
• Understands basic inventory, warehousing, and stocking procedures
• Able to stand/walk for duration of work hours as well as lift/carry/maneuver heavy materials or equipment of moderate weight (8-50 lbs.)
• High school diploma/GED required performing business math (basic algebra, compute rate, ratio, etc.)
• Minimum 2 years in similar position preferred
