Retail Sales Outside Sales Rep/Metal Working in Indianapolis, IN
The Outside Sales Representative for Industrial Sales with a core focus on Metal Working is responsible for the Indianapolis Area. Products offerings would include tooling, tooling accessories, fasteners, safety, MRO, and abrasive items. This position will make sales calls, present new merchandise, promotions, and special product offerings. Be able to open new accounts as well as expanding additional product lines to existing accounts. Under direct or general supervision, act as a Sales Representative for JMC Sales & Engineering, A Bostwick-Braun Company and report to the General Sales Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct effective calls and face-to-face meetings with customers daily.
- Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers.
- Develop and manage all sales leads and customer accounts within CRM system.
- Effectively educate customers on the financial benefits of new and existing product lines.
- Guide and assist customers in planning for future growth and sales development.
- Check customer’s on-hand inventory, compare to reorder points, and determine reorder quantities.
- Actively communicate industry trends, market conditions/opportunities and recommendations to the Bostwick-Braun IBU leadership team.
- Consistently track, analyze, and report individual sales pipelines within CRM system and take appropriate action to ensure execution of team and corporate goals.
- Monitor the company’s industry competitors, new products, and market conditions to understand a customer’s specific needs.
- Meet personal and team sales targets.
- Actively participate in business meetings and trainings as needed.
- Overnight travel may be required at times.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Product knowledge and experience in the Tooling Industry is required.
- Sales experience with a proven track record of new customer development
- CRM system competency in creating and managing customer data, sales tasks, and opportunity funnels.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-sufficiency in administrative tasks including intermediate skill level in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Outside sales experience required.
- Metal working and Tooling experience is required.
- College degree or equivalent tooling sales experience preferred.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Strong leadership, analytical, mathematical, presentation, problem solving, and interpersonal skills are required. Good organizational skills and follow-up are essential, as are multi-tasking skills and attention to detail. Requires an enthusiastic, aggressive, self-starter who has excellent communication skills.
