POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for lead generation, prospecting & onboarding new customers to our book of business for the Logistics Department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Learns, understands & is able to explain Schugel Logistics processes & selling points to prospects or customers.
· Understands freight markets & price prospective freight opportunities.
· Works to develop lead lists from various resources to cold call.
· Makes 75+ connections a day to leads and prospects through LinkedIn, email, messaging or other marketing availability.
· Makes 250-600 calls a week to leads and prospects to solicit business.
· Conducts 20+ meetings each week on the phone or through Microsoft TEAMs with prospects or customers to discuss potential business partnerships, business review & follow up action items.
· Updates CRM with notes on progress of targeted prospects & leads.
· Generates at minimum $3.5M+ in brokerage revenue per year once established.
· Utilizing knowledge of industry & Schugel Logistics goals can successfully overcome prospect objections.
· Onboards new business by exchanging documents & working with credit, risk management/contracts & management to establish the account within our system.
· Prices, negotiates and establishes initial rates as well as pay terms needed for lanes/awards.
· Closes 3-10 new customers per month.
· Communicates to assigned CSR/BDR expectations for the account in regards to load management & tracking.
· Collaborates with operations to handle issues when necessary.
· Follows up with customers to get feedback on performance & bring in additional business or referrals.
· Follows up with customers and works with collections to maintain AR expectations in regards to pay terms on the account.
· Participate in annual RFPs to identify, pursue, win, manage & track award realization on multiple contract lanes.
· Maintains records of loads priced vs. loads won and submits to team for peer review when necessary within the CRM.
· Works in concert with carrier sales, management, and additional business development personnel to ensure business developed is beneficial and profitable for our operations on a micro and macro level.
· Other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
