Mohawk Global is currently seeking a Business Development Manager to support our team of subject matter experts in international trade. Mohawk Global Trade Advisors (MGTA) services provide value to our clients by supporting short-term project needs and building long-term management of trade and compliance programs, assisting our clients in reducing costs, improving cycle time and ensuring compliance with government regulations.
The Business Development Manager will utilize a consultative sales approach focused on development of brand recognition, organic growth opportunities and strategic new business development to meet sales targets. This highly collaborative individual will work with MGTA consultants and leadership to develop the vision, implement plans, and track progress towards sales goals. This role requires a strategic thinker with proven leadership experience and a thorough understanding of customer challenges. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for selling international trade consulting services and developing MGTA opportunities.
Responsibilities/Duties include:
- Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and create customer relationships utilizing prospecting leads and referrals to proactively initiate contact to generate sales
- Provide a consultative approach to presenting MGTA strengths, capabilities, products, and services to potential and current customers
- Empathize with prospects to ensure understanding of challenges and identify service options appropriately suited for them
- Collaborate with MGTA GM, SVP to develop formal strategies to drive sales opportunities
- Manage CRM pipeline and schedule to maximize consulting opportunities. Obtain and maintain complete & accurate information on prospective and existing clients in company CRM (SalesForce)
- Work closely with the MGTA leadership to develop pricing model/strategy for all MGTA services based on market demand to provide timely and competitive quotes
- Professionally represent Mohawk Global by engaging with trade organizations
- Work closely with Marketing to provide educational presentations and analyze trends associated with attendance of presentations to develop sales strategies and targets
- Clearly communicate the development of potential business throughout the sales cycle.
- Track, analyze and report out on sales metrics and progress towards goals
- Formalize annual sales plans with growth/retention goals to support development of top line targets during annual budget process
- Create and deliver sales proposals to key prospects and clients
- Effectively negotiate and close business to meet established sales goals
Desired Skills/Experience:
- Executive level sales or customer/client service experience required
- Strong understanding of Trade Compliance Management and Consulting
- Must have proven ability to sell to senior management with current and prospective clients
- Able to generate revenue by developing market potential through prospecting, lead generation, networking, qualifying opportunities, proposing solutions, forecasting, and closing sales
- Be comfortable working with all Mohawk offices and Mohawk Global Trade Advisors by offering a consultative sales approach
- Have a hunger for success, positive attitude, and desire to learn and grow and the ability to work in a fast-paced growing environment
- Strong listening skills with a focused empathetic and consultative ear
- Experience using MS Excel and Salesforce as a CRM is a plus
- Effectively create and use sales presentation tools (e.g., MS PowerPoint)
- Ability to perform all administrative obligations within assigned deadlines
- Bachelor or Associate Degree in a related discipline/field of study preferred
