Staff Solutions Applications Engineer

SUMMARY:

The successful candidate will provide technical application support to customers in North America to integrate Qorvo power management and motor control products into product designs. He/she will also assist sales with product promotion and liaise with development and product application engineers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop an extensive knowledge of Qorvo’s power management portfolio, providing world-class applications support to our customers
• Technical applications support to customers evaluating our products, as well as internal sales personnel
• Review new product release packages for technical accuracy and completeness
• Assist sales and marketing in preparation of technical proposals and presentations
• Hands-on lab work to identify and resolve issues as well as tuning to optimize products on reference designs and customer’s end products
• Analyze solutions using simulation tools
• Develop close relationship with the customer and coordinate activities with the sales team
• Ability to travel to design locations for product training as well as the customer for onsite support

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
• 10+ years’ experience in power management and motor control design and support

• Design and development experience with power management and motor control circuits
• Good power system knowledge and understanding of how to comply to EMI and transient requirements
• Experience with BLDC and PMSM motor control
• Familiarity with using power measurement equipment such as electronic loads, oscilloscopes, bench power supplies and spectrum analyzers
• Understanding of proper PCB layout techniques for high power circuits
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
• Customer interface: demonstrated success in resolving customer technical issues
• Team player
• Self-motivated
• Ability to travel
