Full description of the position
Position Summary:
The GIS/Sales Support Specialist will primarily focus on supporting the Sales and Sales Engineering teams by providing GIS expertise and generating mapping products that facilitate intelligent decision-making. This role requires proficiency in ESRI software and the ability to configure web maps and applications in the AGO/Portal environment. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage multiple projects, and assist in the development of tools and practices to promote data integrity and workflow efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Sales and Sales Engineering teams to provide GIS support and expertise.
- Generate cartographically appealing mapping products that aid in the sales process.
- Maintain metadata for GIS feature classes and applications to ensure accurate data representation.
- Configure web maps and applications, as well as dashboards, within the AGO/Portal environment.
- Operate effectively within an enterprise GIS environment to ensure data integrity and workflow efficiency.
- Manage multiple projects, assignments, and duties concurrently while meeting deadlines.
- Conduct data gathering and analysis using various tools and software packages to support decision-making.
- Proactively work autonomously and collaborate with other departments to find solutions.
- Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve existing workflows.
- Create and modify ESRI applications such as FieldMaps, Collector, Survey 123, and StoryMaps.
- Assist the Sales and Sales Engineering teams in developing tools and practices to enhance data integrity and workflow efficiency.
- Generate reports, perform fiber analysis, identify expansion opportunities, and provide cost product quoting/pricing.
- Assist in managing the capacity of the fiber network.
- Maintain change management practices and seek opportunities for process improvement.
- Create a wide variety of analysis and reference maps using existing telecom data and proposed network expansions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, or a related field.
- Proficiency in using ESRI software, including ArcGIS Online, Portal, FieldMaps, Collector, Survey 123, and StoryMaps.
- Strong cartographic skills with the ability to produce visually appealing mapping products.
- Experience working in an enterprise GIS environment, ensuring data integrity and adhering to established workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, assignments, and duties with strong attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather and analyze data using various tools and software packages.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with telecommunications networks and related data analysis is a plus.
- Experience in process automation and creating efficiencies within GIS workflows is preferred.
- Knowledge of change management practices and the ability to identify areas for improvement.
- Proficiency in creating reports and performing fiber analysis is desirable.
This position offers a competitive salary within the range of $50,000 to $60,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
