POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sales Analyst is responsible for developing and delivering timely and accurate analysis to support sales objectives and leadership decision-making. The Sales Analyst will lead continuous improvement projects with a focus on increased efficiency and cost savings opportunities. As an Analyst, you will develop, analyze and distribute strategic sales and service metrics and perform support activities for internal stakeholders.
As the Sales Analyst, you will:
- Assist internal and external customers in an analytical role with account management, including line reviews, sales performance, metrics, promotion, inventory recommendations, etc.
- Work independently or with a cross-functional team to mine, collate, and analyze data in order to drive business decisions
- Be the main point of contact between various departments
- Build and present in-depth monthly/quarterly business reviews for various partners
- Identify process improvement opportunities to meet the needs of our customers better
- Prepare action-oriented reporting to drive sales to help find opportunities, and sales trends, and make recommendations for action based on analysis
- Provide first-level support to business clients when issues arise
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops and prepares monthly reports that support the key needs of the business, Sales & Service Management, and other internal customers
- Demonstrated ability to be a thought partner and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Conducts channel analysis, including account, product, promotional, and product performance
- Coordinates the preparation and timely distribution of monthly sales reports to support channel decision-making and customer reporting requirements
- Builds and owns key sales planning reports/tools to facilitate multi-year and independent sales agency planning activities
- Validates data and reports generated for accuracy
- Regularly interacts with the Sales team delivering required data with key drivers/insights highlighted
- Analyzes sales data by channel, customer, and product line identifying trends, key business drivers, and variances
- Initiates and leads projects improving sales efficiencies, performance, and productivity by streamlining activities and recommending changes
- Develops, analyzes and distributes strategic sales, account and service metrics
- Performs other related duties as needed and assigned
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, marketing, communications, business management, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years related analyst experience
- Advanced level in Microsoft Office applications, advanced level MS Excel user
- Teams / SharePoint savvy
COMPETENCIES
- Experience conducting sales analysis at the district, regional, and national levels
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; and proven successful ability to build positive partnerships
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Intermediate)
- Familiar with and desire to learn commonly used and new reporting software for business intelligence (Power BI, Tableau, Nielsen, Advanced Excel)
- Ability to blend and present data from multiple data sources
- Experience creating visuals from data, understanding and compellingly presenting the story the data is telling to all levels of the organization
- Experience with predictive analytics is a plus
- Ability to build and foster strong customer relationships
- Demonstrated successful ability to organize and prioritize work to ensure timely deadlines
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong attention to detail that results in valuable and actionable insights
- Flexibility to adjust to business needs as necessary
- Focus on continuous improvement and learning new skills as the position evolves
- Thrives in a team-oriented environment while capable of working autonomously
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Familiarity with the plumbing industry and products
- Project management experience
