POSITION SUMMARY
The Business Development Team is seeking a professional to fill an opening for a Business Development Manager on the Genesis Builder/Developer initiative. This position will be a key member of our team and will have the opportunity for substantial growth.
We are looking for a sales professional with HUD, MOD and light multifamily product understanding and experience handling housing development projects from the basic infrastructure through final sales and closing.
Essential Experience and Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- 5+ years of experience in the construction industry with a focus on managing residential developments.
- Ability to speak persuasively and respond effectively to positive or negative situations; Listens thoroughly and gets clarification.
- Able to conduct training and orientation events in a group setting.
- Ability to present benefits of factory-built construction to government agencies, local municipalities, zoning regulators and appraisers.
- Work directly with developer prospects to secure their business with the goal of turning the business over to the plant sales staff at the appropriate time.
- Work directly with plant sales staff to help close builder/developer prospects.
- Ability to handle multiple subcontractors and coordinate with our manufacturing facilities to ensure proper option selection, home ordering and scheduling.
- Balances team and individual responsibilities; Exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views; Gives and welcomes feedback; Able to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives.
- Develops workable implementation plans; Builds commitment and overcomes resistance; Communicates changes effectively; Monitors project progression and evaluates results.
- Understands business implications of decisions; Displays orientation to profitability; Demonstrates knowledge of market and competition; Aligns work with strategic goals.
- Substantial travel expected.
- Strong prospecting skills required.
