Smith Automotive Group* is hiring additional *Sales Consultants *immediately for their locations in Metro Atlanta!

Previous automotive sales experience is not required. If you are outgoing and enjoy helping people, you will SUCCEED with the guidance of our Management Team.

Auto sales experience is NOT necessary - we will train the right individuals! Great salespeople have come from different backgrounds: Industrial or manufacturing sales, retail sales, Business-to-business (B2B), inside sales, insurance sales, or rental car counter associates, to name a few.

Responsibilities:

The Sales Consultant is responsible for working with guests to develop relationships, identify vehicle preferences, and select the appropriate model while ensuring each customer has a premium buying experience.

Assist customers through the sales/buying process

  • Maintain a high level of satisfaction with our customer’s experience, following up with the customer both before and after a sale
  • Perform quality product presentations and demonstrations
  • Maintain a daily follow-up task list of your customers
  • Assist in maintaining the inventory
  • Address customer concerns
  • Basic computer skills
  • Other duties may be assigned
  • Greets customer on sales floor and performs a needs analysis including make, type, and features of vehicle desired.
  • Explains features and demonstrates operation of vehicle in showroom or on road.
  • Researches availability of models and optional equipment using computer database.

Works with Sales and F&I Managers and negotiates sales price, including tax, trade-in allowance, license fee, and discount, and requirements for financing or lease payment of vehicle.

  • Walks the lot and visually inspects inventory.

Completes all paperwork and arranges for delivery and registration of vehicle.

  • Delivers and familiarizes the customer with vehicle.
  • Attends/completes required training and department meetings.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.

Job Requirements:

  • Sales or Customer Service experience is helpful but may not be required, depending on other work experience.
  • Must have a desire to learn and grow in a retail environment
  • Professional, well-groomed personal appearance
  • A high school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid in-state driver's license and good driving record
  • Excellent communication skills and grammar proficiency

Qualifications:

  • Customer Service or Sales experience is preferred by not required.
  • Excellent communication skills and grammar proficiency
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Professional, well-groomed appearance
  • Must have a desire to learn and grow
  • Valid in-state driver’s license and good driving record
  • Organization and thorough follow-up skills are necessary for staying in touch with the client prior to and after the sale.
