OUTSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE - CONSTRUCTION SUPPLY
SouthernCarlson is a national distributor of specialty tools, fasteners and packaging materials to construction and manufacturing trades. This industry leading company is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to join their Charlotte team! Career building opportunity with tremendous growth potential. This is a great opportunity for a sales professional with industrial or construction supply industry experience.
This highly driven sales professional will be responsible for developing new customers and managing and developing existing accounts in the Charlotte territory.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of Company products and pricing.
- Identify leads, manage prospects, and acquire new business.
- Build and sustain customer relationships and ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
- Complete scheduled and cold call prospecting activities to establish first and follow up appointments with customer decision makers.
- Provide analysis and problem-solving solutions for the customer and the company.
- Develop and maintain an awareness of market behavior and competitive trends and respond accordingly.
- Regularly meet with leadership to review weekly sales activities, progress on goals, and status of prospective customers.
- Other duties, as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related area preferred (although additional industry experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
- 2+ years direct sales experience (preferably in construction supply sales) with proven track record of growing key accounts.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be goal oriented, have personal integrity and a sense of urgency.
- Must present and communicate in a professional manner.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Must be organized with good time management skills.
- Possess strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed goals.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
