Summary
The Business Development Manager will work closely together with the President and the Senior Management Team to review, learn from, but also question current sales and marketing strategy. The goal is to expand what’s currently working, while at the same time find and add additional areas for the team to focus on.
Nordfab has a long term perspective, and a very strong market position. Next steps needs to be taken based on facts and figures, but also with a relentless and creative mind. The candidate need to be able think long term, yet act today with current resources and time constraints in mind.
Duties
- Demonstrate advanced understanding of the company’s market, competitors, and economic indicators to help identify new markets.
- Initiate, develop and implement sales strategies and programs that support growth and profitability targets. Pinpoint new ways to penetrate the market and expand into new market segments.
- Analyze sales trends, market data and key performance indicators against defined plans; provide product and sales forecasts as required.
- Work with Sales Director to enhance sales techniques and product knowledge for Regional Sales Managers to promote a professional image in the field and keep company’s sales teams at the forefront of the industry and help every sales team member reach their goal.
- Develop and improve value-add programs to meet the needs of dealers and help them exceed revenue expectations.
- Work closely with Sales Director and senior management team to formulate and implement innovative go-to-market strategies.
- Be a key player in the management team in determining overall objectives and direction.
- Work with marketing department to identify new markets
- Develop and continually assess a strategic plan for penetrating nontraditional markets.
- All other duties as assigned.
Scope of Responsibility:
- This job will have periodic access to confidential data including wages and salaries, company records and/or minutes, customer quotes, product costs, and company plans, designs, and/or programs.
- This job follows standard practices and procedures, and is expected to accomplish work assignments with a limited amount of supervision.
Qualifications:
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel. Must have good typing skills.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Business Degree required.
- 4 or more years of experience in strategic sales.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
- Work is performed in an office environment where disruptions occur infrequently.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually reasonably quiet.
Physical Demands:
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk.
Travel Required
- Up to 50% domestic/North America travel
