Full description of the position

Description:Labconco is looking for an Inside Sales Representative to join our Domestic Sales team. This role does not include any high-pressure selling or cold calls and is responsible for development of new prospects, qualification of leads, creating and closing quotes for Labconco's world class lab equipment.
The Inside Sales Rep is technical selling, in that our primary goals are to match a customer to a product, position our product to highlight why we are a prestige brand, and be an OEM that is easy to work with to get timely responses and information. There is no high-pressure selling, as our sales lifecycles are long and ultimate pricing is the responsibility of our dealers, not us. There is also no cold-calling or general high-volume phone work that can be part of other Inside Sales jobs. Since our Inside Sales reps are expected to be a high-information resource, ability to learn our products and understand our markets thoroughly is the primary skillset for an ideal candidate.
A successful person will be a self starter hungry for success, with an interest in life sciences.
Requirements:Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the Domestic Sales department by completing specified administrative sales activities and collaborating with the Outside Sales Representatives on strategic sales approaches.
  • Prospect, qualify and generate leads through distributor and customer interaction.
  • Create and deliver qualified opportunities to the Outside Sales Team.
  • Develop a broad knowledge base of the sales process, product portfolio, and technical applications with the purpose of potential advancement to a field-based Sales Representative position.
  • Participate in the maintenance and optimization of the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system by updating existing information, entering new data, and identifying potential improvements to the data entry process and platform utilization.
  • Respond to requests from customers and distributors for information relating to leads, quote follow up, opportunities, and other business critical sales related needs as appropriate.
  • Attend periodic sales training and meetings including National Sales Meetings.
  • Keep management informed of all activity, including timely preparation and submission of reports.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned by Management.
  • Normal working hours are typically 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday; unless otherwise discussed and/or established by the manager or seasonal schedule changes. From time to time additional hours may be required, as needed.
