TopBuild Home Services®, Inc., a division of TopBuild, is one of the largest Home Energy Rating Systems (HERS) Index raters in the United States. We work directly with builders offering a number of services including pre-construction plan reviews, home energy analysis software and diagnostic testing.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Sales Manager with TopBuild Home Services (TBHS) is responsible to work with regional and market personnel in the development and presentation of sales proposals to large regional and national builder accounts.
Specific Deliverables
- Help deliver TBHS annual sales revenue target, margin and operating profit goals
- Manage a national sales opportunity funnel and support regional sales activity with training recommendations, development of consistent literature, digital tools or other common selling aids
- Work with regions and Director to deliver specific areas of growth including National and regional builder account reviews and product upgrades
- Work with the Director to develop relationships with corporate offices of national builders to promote TBHS.
- Focus 75% of time on securing new customer/builder sales and 25% of time serving existing accounts
- Manage to assigned territory revenue/sales/Operating Profit goal
- Grow net new revenue from new services and new customers
- Develop financials, ROI and business case for new opportunities or territory expansions
- Act as the primary point of contact with DOE, EPA, and other government energy agencies.
- Work to ensure field operations success by:
- Working with Field/BSC Operations Director(s) & Manager(s) on quarterly Ops/administrative workload forecasts to ensure operational teams are prepared as sales and product/service revenue increases
- Developing financial analysis for existing and potential new builder accounts to maximize profitability
- Help field operations manage customer relationships and ensure customers are compliant with business and contractual requirements, 3rd party codes and program requirements, TBHS safety standards and other essential company policies
- Identify and evaluate new service opportunities for potential expansion of services to be provided by TBHS.
- Develop strong relationships with Service Partners and TruTeam divisions and engage sibling business units for new business opportunities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Individual should have good understanding of residential construction practices (i.e. codes, climate zones, requirements, etc. involving the EPA, DOE, IECC, etc.).
- Understanding of Building Science.
- Excellent financial analytical skills.
- Strong sales skills
- Strong communication skills. Excellent understanding of complimentary energy/green programs (i.e. – Energy Star, LEED for Homes, NAHB Green, EFL, etc.)
- Other duties as required.
SUPERVISORY OR MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY
- Not responsible for supervising (hiring, firing, performance reviews or corrective action) others.
BUDGET RESPONSIBILITY
- Help deliver annual TBHS goals for sales revenue, margin and operating profit
- Deliver annual sales territory targets for national and regional revenue

INDEPENDENCE OF ACTION
- Work progress is monitored by supervisor/manager. Follows precedents and procedures. May set priorities and organize work within general guidelines established by supervisor/manager who is available to resolve problems.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- 4-year college degree preferred
- 5 years work-related experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY
- Must have standard, advanced, or expert skills in the following applications:
- Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams
- Program Requirements (Energy Star, Environments for Living, etc.)
- Knowledge of RESNET requirements
- Analytical problem solving.
- Requires self-management and project management ability.
- Good network of contacts at national and regional builders
