The Business Development Director position exists to engage people to love Jesus, serve others, and spread Hope. This position also functions as a liaison between the business community and the radio station and works to develop, maintain, and increase business sponsorships that provide financial support to the ministry.

Essential Functions

Outside Sales

• Call on area businesses, churches, and non-profit organizations within the listening area to develop additional business relationships, encouraging them to participate in our business advertising/underwriting programs and digital services as marketing tools.
• Demonstrate initiative and follow-through to prospect for new business both radio and digital channels.
• Provide excellent customer service to maintain and retain our current business advertisers/underwriters providing our available resources to assist with their marketing needs.

Ministry Support and Promotions

• Provide Assistance during Support Drives
• Provide assistance at station events as needed
• Any other duties as assigned

Demonstrated Faith

• Pray for coworkers in team meetings
• Lead prayer in large group settings as needed
• Pray for donors when called upon to do so
• Use Christian principles to work through conflict
• Participate in Donor Drives and pray for donors over the phone as needed
• Participate in ministry wide Christian Bible studies
• Attend regular Hope Huddle/Prayer meetings for prayer and devotions

Required Experience:

• High School diploma
• Outside business-to-business sales or quota-based commissioned sales experience
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (especially Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
• Demonstrates strong ability to prospect for new business

Preferred Experience:

• 2+ years broadcast media commercial sales or quota-based, commissioned sales experience
• Digital media sales experience
• Radio sales script writing skills
• Radio or Media sales experience

• Consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintaining a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of WayFM. Good fit with all teams within the ministry. Upholds WayFM’s ministry in prayer.
