Martell Electric LLC is a union electrical contractor with offices in IN, MI, IL, IA and AZ. We are currently looking for a Service Account Manager in our South Bend, IN office.
The Service Account Manager acts as the liaison for Martell Services Group clients and our field service teams the position works to build long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships; always working toward finding the products and services that best fit the needs of the client.
WHAT YOU DO: The duties and primary responsibilities below are intended to describe the general content and requirements of this job and are not intended to be an exhaustive statement of duties.
Service Responsibilities:
- Build effective relationships with customers, specialty contractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company vision, mission, and core values and meets or exceeds expectations
- Organize, plan, and execute assigned portfolio of projects to ensure services are provided at or above company goals and standards
- Provide inspection and quality assurance on Martell Service Group service project portfolios ensuring completed work follows plans and specifications
- Coordinate service work with contractors and various public utilities agencies
- Monitor, track, and report on performance of service portfolio; respond to and coordinate resolutions to immediate service issues
- Partner with Purchasing to order materials, setup logistics, and ensure items arrive according to schedule
- Business development: Cold call prospective new customers using targeted demographic/regional data and information and generate revenue at prescribed margins
- Manage service workload by prioritizing work to ensure deadlines and budgetary constraints are met
- Develop service portfolio to include business development, execution plans, staffing/scheduling plans (labor, subcontractors, and historize client information) and tracking metrics
- Communicate service portfolio goals and status with key stakeholders, service technicians and job site personnel
- Dispatch service technicians with the correct materials and equipment to complete service work orders
- Track service costs/revenue for client portfolio, update Director of Operations through regularly scheduled reports
- Provide portfolio oversight by communicating complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or any other entity to key stakeholders
- Build, develop and grow vendor, subcontractor, and field personnel relationships to assure success of service portfolio
- Oversee portfolio personnel’s participation in all aspects of job site safety and adherence to OSHA standards
- Manage administrative tasks including proposal preparation, Request for Information (RFI), Request for Proposal (RFP), schedules and closeout documentation
- Support client in understanding and consideration of all warranty issues
· Find opportunities to help streamline Service Department processes and protocols and assist in the development of Service Department policies, objectives and create a Standard Operating Procedures Manual to assure adherence to best practices procedures (both digital and hard copies)
- Special duties and projects, as assigned or necessary including coverage of other Service Managers
- Other duties as assigned and/or required
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, related discipline, or relevant professional work experience
- Field experience as a journeyman electrician, foreman, or related position preferred
- Strong technical knowledge; 3+ years’ experience in construction and project maintenance
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Ability to use a computer including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and the ability to use or quickly learn work-specific technologies
- Strong customer service skills and ability to maintain relations with both internal and external stakeholders
- Outstanding written, grammar, and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of an organization
- Excellent organization, planning, and time management skills; ability to adhere to schedules/deadlines
- Strong sense of ownership, bias for action, and superior problem-solving skills; be willing to roll up your sleeves to get the job done
- Flexibility and willingness to accept changes in priorities as necessary
