Full description of the position

Senior Manager, Account Marketing
Hachette Book Group is seeking a Senior Manager of Account Marketing to oversee the Account Marketing team and the internal processes that support the larger Hachette sales department. Our ideal candidate is collaborative, innovative, and solution-oriented, is able to multi-task and is highly organized, and is eager to design and implement new ways of supporting sales reps to meet the current demands of our ever-changing book market. The Senior Manager of Account Marketing will report to the Executive Sales Director, Retail Strategy & Author Brands.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with sales and publishers on key seasonal offers and monitor promo offer effectiveness to inform future promotional planning
  • Manage the signed editions program for eligible accounts
  • Oversee galley production and distribution process across publishers; find opportunities to maximize distribution and minimize costs
  • Institute new meetings/processes to establish necessary workflows that enhance sell-in experience for sales reps
  • Directly manage a team of four account marketers who together…
  • Maintain all seasonal, backlist, and specialty catalogs for the Sales Department
  • Create and distribute digital and physical assets for sell-in, including sell sheets, promotional materials, galleys, and more
  • Execute targeted bookseller mailings
  • Coordinate regional trade shows and other book industry events
  • Support in-person events for Sales, including Sales Conference
  • Facilitate communication between publishers and Sales regarding publication metadata updates/changes, marketing, and publicity

Qualifications:

  • At least 4 years’ experience in book publishing or other relevant consumer goods sales environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Salary:
$80,000-$85,000, bonus eligible
