Your Role
The Director of Sales, the senior sales leader, is integral to RPM’s growth, innovation, and the organization’s continued success. A highly effective leader who is grounded in strategy and provides overall direction to the sales floor, you are responsible for the overall performance and profitability of the sales team. You are proactive in aligning the sales objectives with business strategies that include visibility and revenue opportunities. Dedicated to RPM’s customers, you understand how to execute a successful onboarding strategy and maintain the highest standard of customer service excellence. you are passionate and disciplined, doing whatever it takes to get the job done. Streamlined in your approach to finding new customers and fully able to educate them on RPM’s unique service offerings, you can delegate necessary duties to your senior team to stay focused on the overall customer experience. As a member of the leadership team, you will work with other departments to provide strong measurable strategies that will elevate the brand, employees, service offerings, and ultimately fostering sales growth.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Aligns the sales organization’s objectives with company business goals, strategy through active participation in strategic planning, sales strategy development, forecasting, sales resource planning, and budgeting.
- Design & implement lead generation program with high customer conversion rate
- Responsible for recruiting, hiring, developing and measuring performance metrics for all customer facing sales roles.
- Target, onboard and manage strategic customers through personal sales activities
- Responsible to create and manage an expense reporting system that fiscally aligns with company’s budget
- Accountable for effective sales organization, including sales roles and responsibilities, sales channel definition, design and deployment of sales resource
- Meets target for profitability sales goals, market share expansion, and other key financial performance objectives.
- Achieves assigned organizational objectives for sales, profits, volume, product mix, and other strategic goals.
- Supports the achievement of strategic goals critical to other functional areas within the company through partnering on collaborative objectives
- Leads learning and development Sales focused initiatives impacting the organization, while providing stewardship to the sales management and teams
- Actively assesses the value of training and development investments, monitors learning and development metrics to ensures high ROI of team through defined metrics and benchmarks.
- Establishes and governs the sales organizations performance management system through measurable and actionable reporting.
- Lead and monitor sales organizational principles for managing performance, establishing and prioritizing critical performance measures for all sales positions.
- Ensure all key sales and sales management positions are held accountable for defined metrics and goals
- Provide leadership to the sales management team, while fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, high-performance, and ethical behavior.
- Responsible for Sales support budget, defining those investments required inside or outside of the sales organization to elevate sales growth and companywide goals.
- Lead initiatives for change through continual assessment of blockers, risks and inefficiencies.
- Continually maintain and grow peer to peer partnerships customers and prospects.
- Build an elite sales culture that operates with a hunter mentality focused on delivering measurable results
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years Industry Experience
- 3+ years Leadership Experience
- Experience with Salesforce
- Bachelor’s degree
- Masters degree preferred
