Job Description


This position is 100% remote, but applicant must reside in and be able to travel 50%-70% of the time in the territory (TX, W OK, & LA). It is preferred that applicant reside in Dallas-Fort Worth or Houston (with access to a major airport). Relocation is not available for this position.

The application design specialist will augment the sales function by providing pre-sales technical support for project work. They will fulfill customer requirements for integration of Bosch hardware and software while coordinating deliverables from other departments within Bosch to develop full system solutions for the customer. This position will have a strong emphasis on Security Systems and IP Technology driven solutions. Special focus on a vertical market may also be required.

  • Prepare technical concept, system design, and bill of materials for large projects, including benefits and application notes.
  • Assist in the design and management of Bosch training tools, schedule Bosch training classes and document results for the customer. Maintain proficiency and knowledge of products and technology for the entire Bosch portfolio, including product specifications and hardware configurations.
  • Perform product demos and actively promote Bosch USP's (Unique Selling Points) and Value Proposition, either on-site (e.g. "lunch-and-learn" event), via webinar or in classroom settings. Explain technical concepts to end-users and specifying influencers (Architects, Engineers, Consultants, etc.).
  • Develop future project sales by actively calling on key Architects, Engineers, and Consultants within the designated territory and/or vertical market. Write Bosch specifications, review Bosch specifications by others, replace old "boiler plate" specifications with new Bosch specifications. Distribute customer requirements to all stakeholders.
  • Coordinate Bosch deliverables and manage other Bosch commercial responsibilities during implementation of installations at customer site locations, including project / construction schedules.
  • Support business development efforts with key decision makers to ensure Bosch gets specified in future business opportunities.
  • Provide technical field support and product set-up for trade shows, conferences and other marketing events as needed.
  • Work with Bosch sales and marketing associates to develop impressive case studies and white papers of successfully completed projects.
  • Engage with applications and technical support groups to obtain advanced training in our products; using this knowledge, conduct customer needs assessment and recommend solutions.
  • Coordinate with the Business Unit(s) to achieve a clear understanding of product road maps; and, communicate back to them findings for new product development or enhancements to existing product lines.
  • Ensure cost effective time and customer management within company policies to maximize direct contact and return on investment.
  • Travel within territory to meet customer expectations and ensure proper field roll-out of new technologies to the customers. Occasional travel outside of territory may be required when supporting a national organization with multiple site locations.

Qualifications
  • Must be able to travel within territory 50%-70% of the time (preferred if resides in Dallas-Forth Worth or Houston and has access to a major airport).
  • Associates degree or certifications in a technology field required (preferred would be an Associates in a technology field and a business related degree).
  • At least 3 years of Electronic Security industry experience, working with customers (preferred if was from the manufacturer level).
  • Video/IP Networking skills are critical.
  • Sales engineering experience required.
  • Good working knowledge and experience in design and installation of a variety of electronic security systems products.
  • Understand and have technical proficiency with IP and IT related products.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
  • Possess strong presentation skills.
  • Requires self-motivated individual with strong organizational, integrative aptitudes and follow-up skills.

  • Ability to overcome obstacles; is resourceful, action oriented and tenacious.
  • Use Microsoft Office proficiently (i.e. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
