We are looking for a Business Development Manager with laboratory, marketing, customer service, account management or inside sales experience; to manage a team of Business Development Associates (BDA), to develop established key account customers, new and existing clients. Working remote, or from one of our offices, the individual will be required to manage the BDA team, who is responsible for promoting the Company’s full range of product and service offerings to established and prospective clients. The BDA’s role is to establish rapport with clients, understand their technical requirements and working with colleagues in operations, to offer them customized solutions, in support of their territory Business Development Managers. The BDA role involves all aspects of the generation of new business; from initial lead qualification through to deal closure, including the maintenance and growth of established client accounts. The team manager must ensure the BDA team is well organized and detail oriented, having an ability to multi-task and be highly responsive to our client’s needs.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of global Business Development Associates, responsible for representing all business units, products and services, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training when necessary.
- Ensure smooth coordination between BDAs and other commercial departments, Client Services, Marketing, etc.
- Work with commercial management counterparts to define roles and responsibilities to optimize the BDA role within the sales matrix.
- Strong communication skills, written and oral, with experience of managing dozens of internal and external customer touchpoints per day.
- Monitor metrics to ensure BDAs are meeting expectations for achieving regional sales targets on a quarterly basis in accordance with the annual corporate sales plan.
- Attend and execute specific promotions such as one-day table shows, national tradeshows, technical seminars, presentations etc., as requested by Director of Sales Operations and Regional Business Development Directors.
- Report to the Director of Sales Operations and Regional Business Development Directors all relevant information relating to field activities, including customer feedback, competitive actions, etc.
- Maintain full technical knowledge and understanding of BioIVT’s products on an on-going basis.
- Keep abreast of relevant scientific papers and publications associated with the application of BioIVT’s and other similar competitive products.
- Provide on a continuous basis, market feedback on BioIVT’s competitiveness.
- Ensure compliance of BDA team to document all customer interactions in the customer relationship management system (salesforce).
- Develop and maintain a business plan to forecast and achieve sales goals.
- Actively seek and identify areas for process improvement, propose solutions and implement changes
- Conduct bi-weekly team meetings, as well as 1:1 meetings with BDAs
- Provide support and coverage to absent BDMs, BDAs
- Work closely with the Director of Sales Operations on strategic initiatives
- Ability to travel as needed

Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from four-year a college or university (microbiology, biology, chemistry or biochemistry preferred), or equivalent work experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in technical sales or account management.
- Experience with products and services in the drug development industry.
- Experience training new team members, mentoring, identifying opportunities for improvement.
