What Will You Be Doing?
This role will need strong strategic planning skills and be able to deliver on tactical execution as an integral part of the company’s strategic sales team. It also requires the ability to maintain an overall flow of sales consistent with assigned gross profit objectives while identifying prospective clients and/or maintaining effective relationships with existing clients. Additionally, this role will be responsible for:
- The accuracy in the development of quotations and orders for service and products.
- Providing excellent client experience while strongly representing the NBS brand.
- Identifying prospects and potential clients through referrals, networking, associations, business journals, web sites, etc.
- Achieving success through consultative selling and building strong relationships.
- Developing, administering, and adjusting content of sales presentations in accordance with prepared sales plan.
- Developing a budget, creating pricing proposal, determining profit margin, and aligning internal resources for execution of sale. Outlining product specifications, client pricing, delivery, and installation timeframes, as well as the team’s and company’s capabilities by identifying the client’s needs, budgets, and timeframes.
- Maintaining an accurate database within the CRM.
- Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending company and vendor sponsored educational and product workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies.
- Contributing to team effort by supporting related goals.
- Effectively coordinating and maintaining an open channel of communication between the different NBS disciplines: Design, Project Management, Client Experience Coordinators, and Operations to obtain results that promote client satisfaction.
- Obtaining new product orders by servicing existing accounts through continuous needs analysis and follow-up.
- Negotiate long term client pricing agreements for product and/or services.
- Performing special projects as assigned.
- Working within a defined market segment and market territory.
Do You Have the Experience, Knowledge, and Abilities We’re Looking For?
- Bachelor's degree
- Five or more years of industry experience preferred
- Sales experience in, or calling on, the commercial interiors industry is preferred
- Previous experience in the office furniture, design, real estate, or distribution dealership business is a plus
- Entrepreneurial attitude, strong work ethic and team player
- Creative, energetic, and passionate about design, space and creating positive client experiences
- Strong business acumen, professional presence, excellent interpersonal skills, creative thinking, and creative problem-solving skills
- Proven track record of developing trusted relationships, delivering sales results, servicing, and prospecting in midsize to large companies
- Ability to develop account strategies and maintain accurate tracking programs related to persistent contact with prospective clients
- Ability to network, develop business and client relationships, with the passion to participate in appropriate industry-related events
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
The compensation package for this position includes a salary plus commissions, with potential average earnings of $100-175,000/year.
