Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Within assigned territories, establish and/or strenghten customer contacts to secure budgeted sales volume on aftermarket related products and services.
Accomplishing these tasks requires:
Selling (persuading, convincing, and closing orders)
Directing (shop/parts support personnel to provide necessary workscope and pricing information)
Analyzing and evaluating (customer's need and Elliott's capabilities to meet those needs)
Obtain assigned bookings on aftermarket products and services.
Act as principal customer interface.
Acquire skills and experience in various repair procedures.
Act as customer advocate.
Identify potential markets currently not being penetrated, for future sales growth.
BACKGROUND and EXPERIENCE
A thorough technical knowledge of mechanical equipment design, operation, application, and maintenance
An engineering degree (BSME) or equivalent, 5 years work related experience or 10 years for senior level
The ability to translate technical knowledge and skills into saleable ideas and proposals
US/Remote position. Candidate must be located in reasonable distance to Baton Rouge, Louisiana vicinity. 50% travel Baton Rouge, Louisiana area.
Special courses needed
Repair techniques and maintenance procedure updates useful
Basic training in repair of non Elliott equipment, e.g. combustion turbines, large steam turbines
Prior Experience
A thorough commercial knowledge of assigned industries and overview of typical processes
Field sales, service representative, market or application experience in the same products and markets
An understanding of Elliott policies and procedures, especially its organization and personnel
Specific skills
The ability to communicate quickly, clearly, forcefully and tactfully with customers
Strong interpersonal skills
Verbal and written communication skills
Promotional and selling skills to go after and close business in both familiar and new markets
Ability to organize and manage time and territory in a motivated, self-directed manner

Travel involves up to several days for overnight travel.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/COMPETENCIES
Obtain assigned bookings on aftermarket products and services to ensure budgeted sales revenue.
Insure CRM opportunities are up to date and most recent developments noted.
Develop existing customers, pursuing both traditional and non-traditional products.
Identify and contact new customers to further expand sales base and revenue potential.
Manage time and expenses to ensure coverage of key revenue sources while pursuing new target areas.
Provide input to Business Units for proposal preparation and submit proposals.
Negotiate commercial terms of sale.
As principal customer interface, advise management of changing customer market requirements.
Complete monthly market opportunity forecast
Recommend actions to counter or take advantage of a competitor's position, i.e. price, lead time, or product differentiation related needs.
Submit annual analysis of sales territory.
Complete special projects as assigned by sales or marketing management.
Acquire skills and experience in various repair procedures and techniques to maintain appropriate level of expertise and facilitate continued sales.
Act as customer advocate in matters involving communication of requirements and execution of responsibilities. Examples include:
Monitor schedule of key orders to insure on-time completion.
Provide feedback loop to Jeannette and/or shop(s) on any quality related problems.
