We have an outstanding opportunity for a Directors of Sales. Salary is dependent upon experience.
We are seeking leaders with a documented history of driving top line sales, building successful sales teams and opening new markets. Our sales leaders are not just administrators but are dynamic members of the booking team with a history of creating an employer of choice culture for our associates. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience as a Director of Sales in a full service hotel with exposure to National brands being a positive. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is preferred and candidates who have demonstrated stability in their employment history will receive additional consideration.
The Director of Sales is 100% responsible for top line revenues. This position is responsible for directing, coordinating, training and supervising the Sales Managers, Catering Manager(s) and the Sales Administrators in all sales-related activities, including direct sales efforts, follow up and proper sales administration. He/she is also responsible for growing existing accounts and generating new business to ensure that room revenues and catering revenues meet or exceed budget in order to maximize revenue and profits, and to improve the hotel’s performance in the marketplace.
Education & Experience:
- College degree preferred and/or equivalent work experience
- Strong financial knowledge required.
- Valid driver’s license from the appropriate state
- Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the sales/marketing/hospitality profession. This includes experiential knowledge required for management of people, complex problems and efficient sales activities.
- Must possess highly developed communication skills to frequently present, negotiate, convince, sell and influence other managerial personnel, hotel guest(s) and/or corporate clients.
- Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from various sources and understand the process and people involved to modify or address the specific concern.
- Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and possess basic mathematical skills
- Reading, Writing, Basic Math
- Sales Data Base System (ie. Sales Pro, Delphi, etc)
- Computer skills
- Brand systems
- Mental Requirements:
- Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly, both oral and written.
- Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
- Must be able to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations including the ability to handle guest complaints and disputes and resolve them to satisfactory results.
- Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
- Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
- Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from various sources and consider, adjust or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need.
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding and clarifying concerns and issues raised by team members and guests.
