LEMOINE, a Great Place to Work®-Certified company, is seeking a Business Development Director for the Disaster Response Services and Crisis Management business line. You will provide leadership and strategic direction to diverse pursuits. This key position is designed to support the development of market share and build top-line revenue for LEMOINE. In addition to supporting the initiatives that drive response, this role requires extensive relationship-building skills and strategies, including developing relationships with leaders that span both geography and business lines.
You will work on selected opportunities and oversee bid strategies, pricing, teaming, and proposal strategies and development. You will be expected to support the internal strategy and risk management for opportunities. In this role, you will lead strategic pursuits including the development of pre-positioned opportunities that create desired results.
The ideal candidate is an accomplished business developer who understands the disaster services space, project management, contracts, and proposal development. You will be expected to have some familiarity with the client types in order to be conversant in their terminology, policies, organizational structure, etc.
Essential Duties and Tasks:
- Develop strategic plans, marketing and sales plans, and budgets for business development aspects of the Company
- Provides operational oversight of Business Development functions
- Oversees the formation of business partnerships and negotiation of contracts
- Member of the team accountable for effort, action, and results
- Sets sales priorities and accountabilities necessary to achieve the annual sales target
- Ensures the company performance targets are aligned with resource requirements to deliver on key business objectives
- Provides strategic marketing oversight of branding, messaging, and media campaigns as well as overall strategic alignment with LEMOINE's marketing programs and initiatives
- Collaborates with the CFO and members of the executive team to evaluate financial performance and manage accurate business forecasts
- Evaluate sales effectiveness and implement improvements
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement changes as needed
Expectations of the Role:
- Collaborate and develop an integrated approach across LEMOINE's business lines
- Contribute to furthering the business development process in the Disaster Response Services and Crisis Management business line
- Support client business development relationships and activities
- Support the execution of strategies, major proposals, and interviews
- Serve as an ambassador for the broader LEMOINE business
- Lead strategic teaming discussions with other consultants or service providers on larger bids
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Business Development on major pursuits (Gross revenue $50 million or greater) for the last 5 years
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute winning strategies for major projects and programs
- Requires flexibility to travel on a regular basis
- Proven strong strategic writing, illustration, and communication skills
- Be able to participate in creating a track record of winning 60% or greater of pursuits
- Must have the ability and desire to work with and mentor key employees - helping them learn business development tools and processes
- Must possess the ability to work across multiple markets or business lines
- Must have the ability to work collaboratively with various business leaders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or relevant background
- 10 years of applicable experience
- Strong understanding of the Disaster Response industry, specifically in emergency fuel and water supply, damage assessment, temporary and permanent housing, and crisis management consulting marketplace
- Being able to develop strategic initiatives in emerging markets is desired.
Certifications or licensure:
- Driver's license and ability to maintain a driving record that is satisfactory to the Company's liability insurance carrier is required.
