Full description of the position

FoodPrep Solutions, has an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Representative based in Boston, MA. FoodPrep Solutions (FPS) provides sharpening services, food equipment sales and service, and related merchandise to the foodservice industry. Our customers include many of the businesses where you dine and shop including restaurants, supermarkets, gourmet markets, and deli’s.

As a Business Development Representative, you receive thorough training from our FPS Get-Started program, which includes a combination of learning our unmatched product offerings, proprietary selling techniques, and 1:1 coaching from experienced management. POSITION SUMMARY:

Your role will be to seek new business opportunities by contacting and developing relationships with potential customers. You will use your communication skills to cultivate strong relationships with customers, from first contact until you close the deal. You will also ensure proper after-sales service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Soliciting and Making Sales

  • Executing in-person 15 sales contacts each day.
  • Establishing a minimum sales quota of new customers each week through cold calling, networking, and prospecting of existing company leads.
  • In conjunction with obtaining new sharpening services customers, you will have the ability to sell additional products and services. FoodPrep has the widest array of offerings in the industry, which provides our BDR’s with the greatest upside earning potential.
  • Working effectively with FoodPrep service and support team members.

Tools for Effective Selling

  • Ensuring your vehicle is outfitted with inventory or perfect knives and ancillary products.
  • Operating your vehicle in a safe and lawful manner.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Relationship management skills and openness to feedback.

REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
  • Required Experience: Sales experience preferably in the food service industry.
  • Required Skills: Driver’s License
  • Preferred: Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Flexible scheduling (potential for remote work)
