The Practice Group Specialist works closely with and provides administrative, marketing, and business development support to internal firm practice groups. Working in conjunction with practice group leadership and other members of the Marketing and Business Development Department, this position is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of assigned groups and focuses on developing and implementing initiatives that support overall firm and practice group business and strategic plans. The position requires a strong ability to analyze and understand the best use of information compiled in a number of firm business processes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support business development efforts and initiatives with defined practice groups.
- Coordinate the development and ongoing implementation of group business plans.
- Assist with the preparation of marketing collateral, client pitches, RFP responses, and other ad hoc business development requests.
- Assist with the development and execution of practice group webinars and other client development events as necessary.
- Monitor business development activities and marketing spend.
- Create meeting agendas in coordination with practice group leadership.
- Coordinate and work on implementation of agreed upon action items.
- Communicate and track business development requests within the Marketing and Business Development Department.
- Assist with the collection, entry, and maintenance of data in firm systems and databases.
- Identify process improvement opportunities at practice group and departmental levels.
- Assist with various rankings and award submissions, including Chambers.
- Analyze and summarize information for use in business development efforts.
- Understand and appropriately follow firm processes and utilize firm systems.
- Compile and produce reports on an as needed basis.
- Provide administrative and other relevant project assistance as necessary.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in business or marketing with strong preference given to experience in a law firm or other professional services setting.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to quickly learn and proficiently utilize new software and other programs.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Exercise good judgment and possess good interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to provide quality service to internal and external clients.
- Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to summarize information clearly and concisely.
- Works harmoniously and collaboratively with others as part of a team.
