INSIDE RETAIL SALES/Customer Service Representative Job Description

General Purpose: Interact with customers to provide ongoing customer service and instruction in welding supply retail store, perform inside sales function from store including sales support for outside sales.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

• Deal directly with customers either by telephone, electronically or face to face
• Maintain knowledge of Company’s products, services and policies
• Handle and resolve simple customer complaints according to Company policy
• Take responsibility for all transactions to fill each customer order
• Process orders, forms, applications and requests promptly
• Provide pricing and delivery information in coordination with Distribution Manager
• Be responsible for cash drawer, daily balance report, and daily sales receipts
• Maintain store inventory, monthly cycle counts, and maintain adequate cylinder inventory
• Take responsibility for cleanliness of showroom
• Display products in a manner that enhances sales opportunities
• Follow up on customer interactions

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Customer service experience
• Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
• Proficiency of MS Office applications
• Product knowledge
• Current Driver’s License
• Knowledge of Welding, and/or mechanical knowledge beneficial

Must be organized, efficient, and keenly aware of customer satisfaction for repeat business. Need excellent communication skills. At ease and effective in stressful and fast-paced situations. Attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills.

COMPENSATION/HOURS OF WORK: This is an hourly position and compensation is reviewed annually. Wage increases are based on adherence to job description and performance. Standard hours are 7:30am to 4:30pm with a one-hour break for lunch.

Reports To: This position reports to the Customer Service Manager.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $45,000.00 to $50,000.00 /year
