The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for the development, growth and success of the sales team including Field Support Specialists within the assigned region within the Industrial business unit.
1. Accomplishes regional sales objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, coaching, and performance management of employees in assigned region
2. Responsible for communicating job expectations, including planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions, along with planning and reviewing compensation-related actions
3. Enforce and monitor employees’ adherence to VSP policies and procedures
4. Responsible for forecasting and preparing budgets within the assigned region, including developing individual quota plans for each sales employee
5. Provide guidance to the assigned sales team, including focus markets, intelligence, and target prospects within the region, ensuring alignment with the company’s revenue and profitability goals
6. Responsible for implementing and utilizing Salesforce as a sales tool within the assigned sales team.
7. Travel within the region, working closing with sales personnel to maximize performance and meet/exceed customer expectations
8. Maintains and expands regional customer-base by counseling and coaching assigned sales team, building, and maintaining rapport with key customers, and identifying new customer opportunities
9. Plays a key role in national contract identification, implementation, and maintenance within the assigned region
10. Identifies new product opportunities, surveys regional customer needs and trends, and tracks competitors
11. Recommend and participate in investment decisions within the assigned region, including employees and operational facilities
12. Implement a focus on identifying opportunities for conversion to VSP proprietary products
13. Routinely coordinate necessary product, application, and assembly training to the sales team and customers
14. Responsible for the assigned sales team’s quarterly documentation of customer cost savings resulting from service and support for customers in the region
Travel
Heavy overnight travel is expected when working within territory, attending trainings, and participating in corporate meetings.
Education and Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree in a technical, business, or related discipline or equivalent experience
2. Advanced Salesforce knowledge and application
3. Customer service interactions, support, and sales experience
4. Proven work experience as a Regional Sales Manager or similar senior sales role (Preferred)
5. Industrial experience (Preferred)
The employee must have a valid driver's license, an acceptable driving record, and their own dependable transportation.
