Summary:
Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, performs a variety of administrative and business development functions. Increases the hospital’s market presence by the development of relationships with physicians, community leaders, employer groups and insurance payers. Identifies, contacts, and manages potential customer sources and potential appropriate patients for admission. Coordinates transmission of clinical and benefit information from outside sources to the internal hospital operations. Performs 80% or more of the job duties outside the Hospital.
Responsibilities:
- Increases market presence by developing and maintaining relationships within the community, with physicians, case management and insurance programs.
- Keeps CEO informed of current and competitive forces in the marketplace, keeping abreast of industry-wide trends and developments.
- Maintains an open line of communication between the hospital, physicians, community services and employer groups, as applicable.
- Assists with the development of promotional materials, such as brochures, flyers, and the like.
- Collects and analyzes referral data. Maintains a current log of physician and other referral sources.
- Assesses the needs of physicians, patients, insurance payers, business and community groups and reports to the CEO.
- Represents the hospital with physicians, business leaders, employer groups and community organizations. Attends community/professional meetings and functions, as appropriate.
- Facilitates a safe and positive transfer experience for the patient and/or family from the referring facility to the Hospital. Supports coordination of services and information related to continuity of care.
- Obtains accurate information regarding both the clinical and financial information of patients during the pre-admission phase and transmits the information to internal departments as appropriate.
- Attends staff meetings; department in-services and education. Acknowledges receiving the information by signature on the minutes for at least 80% of the meetings.
- Identifies needs for personal professional learning and demonstrates achievement of the learning goals.
- Completes and keeps current all mandatory in-services, modules, competencies, licenses, and annual updates (professional licenses and certifications). Updates annual health requirements.
- Verbalizes and understands of the appropriate actions in emergency situations such as Code Blue or Code Red.
- Able to adapt to new conditions or procedures quickly and without resistance as demonstrated by implementation of new/revised policy, used of new equipment/skill responsibility, accepts new or additional duties assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in business development and community relation work (preferred).
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to communicate to patients, physicians, visitors, and employees in a concise and effective manner.
Licensure/Certification/Education Requirements:
- Current CA RN License
- Must have a valid CA Driver's License
Note: This position requires frequent travel within the designated market area.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $42.90 - $51.50 per hour
