Sales Specialist
Mission
This position is responsible for ensuring an outstanding experience for all groups, existing sales contacts, and new sales contacts. Maintain relationships with existing contacts and partners to encourage repeat business. For non-public/standard and private event/charter sales, provide sales support to groups in all markets corporate, convention, tour, travel, social, military, education, religious, fraternal, and weddings).
Essential Outcomes
- Serve as group sales liaison with external and internal contacts to create and maintain current and future opportunities and partnerships leading to increased revenue.
- Provide outstanding service to new and existing partners including helping to develop and execute ideas for expanding clientele across all markets.
- Serve as a group sales specialist for all markets to follow up on leads and group sales for non-public/standard and private event/charter at the Riverboats, Gateway Arch, and Gateway Arch National Park.
- Assure that all group sales are handled according to established policies and procedures including writing contracts, events orders, and collecting payment for outstanding invoices.
- Work in a group sales database to maintain sales channels and track group sales leads. Handle calls, emails, and messages when other sales representatives are unavailable.
- Handle orders by phone, email, or mail and check that orders have the correct details including pricing, dates, times, and number of attendees.
- Input orders, ensuring they are processed according to customer requirements, and ensure all orders are accurate and delivered on time.
- Develop and/or maintain filing systems for sales records, prepare reports, and provide financial information as needed.
- Assist Sales Team Manager in securing and coordinating group bookings.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to demonstrate strong organizational and administrative skills. Proven ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. Proven broad-based people skills and experience with directing group dynamics. Advanced public speaking and interpersonal skills. Knowledgeable of best business practices in guest experience, tourism, and hospitality. Proven customer service skills. Ability to learn standard office software including ticketing and reservation system.
Education
Degree:
Associates degree or equivalent experience required. BS preferred.
Field:
Hospitality, Tourism, or related field.
Experience

Three (3) years industry experience required.

Pay: $43,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
