Assistant Sales Director

In business since 1939, Thacker Caskets has grown to become the largest family owned Casket Company in the United States and the third largest casket company in the United States. Professional, aggressive and growth oriented in nature, Thacker is seeking an ambitious, self-starting Assistant Sales Director who enjoys selling in a business-to-business environment in the Maryland and Pennsylvania market. This position will be a hybrid role with sales consultant responsibilities and office and management responsibilities.

The successful Assistant Sales Director will create opportunities within the territory by:

These may include, but not be limited to:

· Be the secondary contact for the assigned sales team on all sales related matters including opportunities, concerns, questions, issues, etc. as it is assigned from the Sales Director.

· Be a liaison and positive influence between the company and assigned team members.

· Actively participate as a leader in special sales activities such as conventions, sales meetings, etc.

· Be willing to give presentations and lead discussions during these aforementioned sales activities and thus must be comfortable speaking in front of people.

· Conduct “field training” sessions in other territories with the objectives of:

· Stimulating additional business for a Sales Consultant

· Addressing a specific opportunity within a Sales Consultant’s territory.

· Provide analysis of a Sales Consultant’s professional development.

· Assist with territories that have a void or are in a stage of transition.

· Conduct “field training” sessions training a Sales Consultant within his/her own territory.

· Assist with hiring initiatives to include telephone interviews, face to face interviews and/or potentially home office interviews.

· The Assistant Sales Director will not have any financial responsibility of other Sales Consultants.

· The Assistant Sales Director will need to complete all administrative tasks related to this position on time.

· Effectively routes territory, plans sales calls and follows through

• Prospects for new funeral home business while growing existing base
• Approaches new opportunities with a goal oriented stance
• Teaches merchandising concepts to new and existing funeral home customers
• Develop and foster relationships with customers – A MUST!

Salary: $61,200/year + bonus
