JOB SUMMARY
The Ben is expanding our sales department with the hiring of an additional seasoned Social Sales & Catering Manager with a minimal background of 3+ years selling directly to weddings and social events in the Palm Beach County or Broward County. Our increased exposure in the market has allowed us to expand and we are seeking the ideal team player that values a work environment that is fast paced, focused yet fun. Candidate must have experience selling boutique or luxury events to high profile clients as well as have existing relationships with various wedding planners and related vendors and have experience in negotiating and contracting such events.
In this role the hired associate must develop and foster Group and Catering business for the hotel through proactive and reactive sales efforts. This position is designed to provide the highest level of customer satisfaction to external clients and internal partners with the goal of garnering both repeat and referral business from our client base. In addition to maintaining existing business, this position will be responsible for finding new business and saturating existing accounts and/or segments. This position serves as liaison between the customer, the Ben Sales team and our Banquets and Culinary Departments. Excellent communication skills are required as well as a professional appearance, attitude and team player mentality.
Position operates under designated monthly/annual sales revenue goals with outlined requirements for both appointment and prospecting goals reviewed monthly.
***Social Catering Manager is an onsite position and will work Tuesday – Saturday, 9am-5pm.
Key Job Details:
- Develop strong relationships with wedding planning companies through prospecting and presenting efforts for the purpose of securing business for The Ben with proper positioning of The Ben as a wedding destination.
- Review wedding sourcing platforms (The Knot, Wedding Wire, Brand/Vanity websites, etc) to ensure continued growth of qualified wedding inquiries.
- Responding to all wedding inquiries in a prompt and professional manner, assisting clients on options best suited to both the couple’s needs and The Ben’s successful operation while providing overall excellent service.
- Conduct all site visits and follow up with potential clients to secure business.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, continually seeking opportunities from unique resources such as wedding professional associations, bloggers and influencers, vendors and sourcing sites.
- Create and expertly execute wedding FAM experiences at The Ben showcasing offerings and growing content for wedding marketing.
- Employ excellent communication and listening skills to qualify clients and grow conversion of leads.
- Creative use of social media and other research/prospecting tools to reach potential wedding couples and event planning firms.
- Participate in qualified wedding showcases, industry events, tradeshows and FAM trips in accordance with the company and property policies.
- Detail orientation a requirement. Hotel operates on CI/TY CRM system where all contracts, activities and reporting are documented. Associate required to follow all CI/TY guidelines and SOP’s of office for accuracy.
- Experience in event spacing, pricing and allocation of hotel services to provide The Ben total profitability during contracting and life of sales process up to and post event.
- Exceptional event follow up activity to ensure client satisfaction and ascertain referral business.
