We are seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented Sales Associate to join our team at Shipwrecked Treasure Museum, located at Branson Landing. As a Sales Associate, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our visitors' experience by providing exceptional customer service, selling tickets to the museum, and promoting merchandise in our gift shop. Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring the cleanliness and organization of both the gift shop and the museum. This is a dynamic position that offers the opportunity to engage with visitors from all walks of life while immersing them in the fascinating world of shipwrecked treasures.
Responsibilities:
Ticket Sales: Efficiently and accurately sell tickets to visitors using the designated ticketing system. Provide information about the museum's exhibits, tours, and special events to potential visitors.
Merchandise Sales: Actively engage with customers in the gift shop, promoting and selling merchandise related to the museum's theme. Offer product recommendations, answer queries, and process transactions using the point-of-sale system.
Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing visitor inquiries, concerns, and requests in a friendly and professional manner. Provide assistance, guidance, and recommendations to enhance the overall museum experience.
Maintain Cleanliness: Regularly clean and organize the gift shop and museum areas to ensure a tidy and inviting environment. This includes dusting, sweeping, mopping, restocking shelves, and arranging merchandise displays.
Stock Management: Monitor inventory levels of merchandise in the gift shop and notify the appropriate personnel when restocking is required. Assist with receiving, unpacking, and pricing merchandise shipments.
Cash Handling: Accurately handle cash transactions, process credit/debit card payments, and maintain the cash register in adherence to established procedures.
Adhere to Policies and Procedures: Follow all museum policies and procedures regarding customer service, safety, cash handling, and cleanliness to ensure a positive and secure environment for visitors and staff.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a customer service or sales role is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic math skills and proficiency in operating a cash register.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
- Passion for history, culture, and the maritime industry is a plus.
