Outside Sales Engineer / Technical Sales Representative needed in New Orleans, LA
Essentials:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Ability to understand and explain HVAC mechanical systems.
- Establishes and expands relationships with current and prospective customers by regular sales calls, social events, and cold calling.
- Ability to travel frequently for training and customer events.
- Provide courteous and prompt service to all internal and external parties.
- Prioritizes and addresses requests and assignments in a professional and cooperative manner.
Duties/Job Description
- Provide product representation for various HVAC manufacturers in South Louisiana and the MS Gulf Coast.
- Provide product technical knowledge and recommendations to mechanical engineers, architects, and mechanical contractors within South Louisiana.
- Attend regular training events to establish and continually educate oneself on all commercial HVAC systems and products.
- Entertain and develop relationships with mechanical engineers and contractors.
- Execute expense reports for entertainment and job required travel.
- Review commercial project drawings and specifications to determine the appropriate equipment for bidding process.
- Estimating projects by manual take-off process and review.
- Develops equipment pricing using various software and online pricing tools and contacting the manufacturers directly.
- Drafts and sends proposals and follow-ups with customers on feedback regarding the proposal and bid process.
- Conducts post sale follow-ups with customers to ensure all sales agreements have been finalized and customers are satisfied with all aspects of the transaction.
- Negotiates prices of sales agreements as required.
- Ensures customers provide a purchase order, signed submittal, bond and tax exemption form, and other information for each job before ordering equipment approval and purchasing.
- Monitor equipment shipments and updates customers as necessary.
- Addresses all concerns with customers related to costs, purchasing, installation, etc.
- Supports other team members and department with proposals and assistance as needed.
- Remains current on details and specifications of all brands and equipment sold.

- Salary: $60,000.00 - $65,000
- Commission : Profit percentage commission base
